French onion dip
I made this from a recipe I found online at an American chef's blog. Our tastes vary a bit from those of Americans so I changed it to suit my tastes, plus I didn't recognise some of the stuff he put in his (it sounded like a jar full or colour and preservatives )
We used ...
4 brown onions chopped finely
2 large shalotts chopped in rings
half a punnet of sr cream
half a punnet of crm cheese
worsteshire sauce
butter
oil
salt
brown sugar
pepper
Caramalise the onions in the oil, butter. When they're beautiful and sweet smelling stir in the crm cheese and sr cream and sauce, and everything else. Mix well and chill for 3 hours at minimum, over night is best

Sounds like this dip's effect is from the carmelisation. Let us know how it goes for you without cooking the onions!

I have to say that it's the best thing out this dip. Everyone in the house (except the resident breatharian) thinks it's delicious!
