Trying to conceive/Pre TTC Empty Trying to conceive/Pre TTC

Thought I should make a TTC thread, since at the moment - as a not yet mother - I'm not really sure where I fit here on this forum.

Are there any other women who are trying to conceive at the moment or planning to in the next year or so?

Or any women who are in the same boat as me with the long term conception issues?

As I said in my intro, we have been trying for 22 months. I have poly-cystic ovaries and VERY long and erratic cycles.. at the moment I am on CD130 with no end in sight, but that is pretty usual for me, my longest in the last 2 years was 190 days. If there hasn't been a change for me by July this year then I will start looking into clomid but I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that.

Anyway! Enough about me, anyone else want to join in on this thread?

Even though the title has "mother" in it, doesn't mean all our members will be mothers already. There is plenty room for you on your journey to motherhood! When I say "whole mother" I mean it's about ALL the journey, not just the motherhood bit Wink

Have you tried vitex? It's cheap and easy to come by, and it helped put paid to my nearly 2yr ttc journey. With my pcos I can conceive but I miscarry every second week, but this time I seem to be ok.

I know we have atleast one other member who is soon to be ttc Very Happy

Smile Thank you! It's not that I don't feel welcomed here, just that I feel a bit stuck.. like I'm ready for that next stage and not getting anywhere.

I am taking vitex, I've been taking it for about 12 months, I don't think it's making a difference but I'm not giving up just in case! At the moment I'm focusing on losing a little weight, I have heard that with PCOS even just losing 5% of your body weight can make a difference so I'm doing that at the moment and trying to eat less carbs etc.. which can be tricky on a vegan diet.

I have PCOS was told by my dr and a naturopath that I may never have kids.....those two days broke my heart... I was so desperate to be a mum..... We moved from Sydney to QLD I move in August Pete stayed in Syd to finalise his business and finish a bit of work off. He came down for my birthday in October for a month till his birthday and then went back till Christmas. Of course in that time we bonked like rabits (not really we never been a very sexually charged couple). Anyway a week before he was due to come back down (b4 giftmas) I had a strange feeling I may be preggers... Went and brought a test and woohoo I bawled cause I was so happy and sad cause he wasnt there with me..... I started bleeding that night (freaking out) was on the phone to Pete and I was very sad... He kept asking me what was wrong and of course I didnt want to worry him till he finally got it out of me... We were over the moon but worried. Went to the dr the next day had it all confirmed normal bleeding and we were about 6ish weeks. I waited till Pete was with me to tell mum and dad even though mum had a feeling.

I told you this story so you could know that is does happen even with PCOS. Rhea I hope that your dream comes true and you will be telling us very shortly that you are going to be a mumma.

Thank you so much Pinky. It always fills me with joy to hear of other women falling pregnant after having troubles. I hope that one day soon I'll have that news for you all too, it's been a painful journey, but I'm sure that when it does finally happen it will all have been worth it. In the meantime I just have to stay positive and remember that it's out of my hands!

Oh N, I'm so sorry for your pain. I really do have everything crossed for you xxxxxx

Why are you waiting to try the clomid if you think it'll work. If you've tried everything else I say you should go for it!

Thanks!! It's a matter of finances for us at the moment. Because we have just moved here we don't have a specialist yet so we need to visit a doctor and get a referral and then visit the specialist before we can get the prescription.. it's going to set us back $500 before we even get the pills, so we are going to wait until the end of June.. that's our target date.. We'll be in a much better financial position then but also I think we are kind of hoping that everything will just sort itself out.. wishful thinking probably!

Friends of mine had unprotected sex for 7 years and no kids. Then he went away to Africa for 6 months. When he came home they had sex once and VOILA!!! Apparently the sperm makes these nasty antibodies that are sent to kill other men's sperm if it's present .... and their very fiesty swimmers! has your partner been checked too N? He might have a low sperm count or something.
